From Dream to Reality

 

The Pin- Up Squirrels are an all female sketch and improv team. We perform in NYC and create video sketches that go aroud the whole wide world. It's an amazing team that continues to gain popularity ( thank you!) But it started out as a tiny nugget of a dream.

There is a pilot competion known as NYTVF. I had subbmited  a written piolt and a friend said "why don't you do what you know, somthing with live comedy" and thus set in motion the idea of The Pin- Up Squirrels. 
As a young child I felt myself a young Sally Jesse Raphael, or Jerry Springer or insert any day time talk show host. My friends and I would record interview sessions ,usually on the topic of boys we'd like to kiss. My love for performing brought me to NYC where I took classes with UCB and The PIT, among other NYC training  schools, this is where I learned comedy is as awesome as SNL makes it look and that there are a lot of talented people in this town of NY.

Going on auditions I noticed there were so many really skilled women and in my classes, more skilled women. However the roles available were few far between and often asked for bare breasts.

As a writer I have always tried to incorporate great roles for women and people of all ages even those people over the ripe age of 20. When thinking of a live show with comedy it occured to me there aren't any ( to my knoweledge) all female sketch shows on TV. With that I had my show concept. Night Out. The team name came through a vote. The show is now Night Out with The Pin- Up Squirrels. We invite a guest who is in the entertainment industry. I
